VEHICLE SERVICING
We have been performing vehicle servicing for over 30 years in Mackay.
LOGBOOK SERVICE:
A logbook service is a series of services performed on your vehicle as outlined in the manufacturer’s handbook. It is a standard service that is performed at the intervals as determined by the manufacturer. It is called a logbook service because it follows the procedures outlined in the manufacturer’s handbook and provides proof that you have looked after your vehicle to their specifications. This is important if your vehicle is under warranty. The ACCC has confirmed we may sign or stamp your service logbook without affecting your statutory warranty. Specific information can be found here or at the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association. Most logbook services include the following:
- Change engine oil and oil filter
- Brake inspection and adjustment
- Check steering and suspension
- Check and top up all fluids under bonnet
- Check tyre pressures
- Check all belts, hoses, lights and battery
- Road test and safety inspection
- Report on any concerns and provide a quote if desired.
Basic SERVICE:
A basic service is generally conducted every 10,000km or 6 months, whichever occurs first, although this does vary across makes and models. A basic service covers the same procedures as listed above in the logbook service. The difference is that basic services consider the car’s condition as a whole and repairs and maintenance are conducted as required.
MAJOR SERVICE:
A major service covers the above mentioned, but it can have additional items if it applies to your vehicle:
- Automatic transmission service/manual gearbox service
- Change front and rear diff oils and transfer case oils
- Change all filters; air, fuel, cabin.
- Service Air Flow Metre
HOW DO I KNOW WHICH ONE TO BOOK?
We always check and stamp your vehicle’s logbook during a service in any case. We are always aware of the type of service that your vehicle needs. So all you need to do is book in for a service, and we will take care of the rest 🙂
